Having performed to sold out audiences on stages, in theaters and U.S. embassies in 16 countries around the world, writer/actor/comedian Stogie Kenyatta's acclaimed “One-Man Broadway Style Show” will premier in Honolulu for one weekend only February 1, at 7pm and February 2, at 4pm, at the Doris Duke Theater, Honolulu Museum of Art. Kicking off Black History Month, “The World Is My Home—The Life of Paul Robeson” is presented by Sisters Empowering Hawaii.

As laugh-out loud funny as it is educational, this romanticized love story with a toe tapping jazz and bebop soundtrack features music from the Harlem Renaissance. Kenyatta plays more than 12 characters, with colorful prop and wardrobe changes from rags to tuxedos. Depicting the horrors of the Slave Trade, the Holocaust, and the Jim Crow era along with the magic and music of the Harlem Renaissance, Kenyatta uses comedy, music, satire, singing and vivid storytelling to introduce the audience to the many-faceted American legend that was activist, football star, first African-American lawyer in a New York law firm, speaker of 12 languages, actor and singer Paul Robeson.
