Besouro is a 2009 Brazilian action-drama film about Besouro Mangangá, a Brazilian Capoeirista from the early 1920s to whom were attributed heroic and legendary deeds. The film explores ways in which indigenous Yoruba spirituality empowers Black liberation throughout the diaspora. Produced by Mixer and Globo Films, distributed by Miravista, the film is directed by João Daniel Tikhomiroff.

For the post-film discussion on how indigenous spiritual traditions are a source of personal empowerment, we welcome Baba James Weeks, a priest of the ancient Yoruba tradition of Oriṣa/Ifa and award winning photographer, author, and producer of the upcoming documentary film and book, Meditations Across The King's River: African-inspired Wisdom For Life's Journey.. Baba James Weeks will be joined by Iya Vanessa Irvin, priestess of Oriṣa Ọṣun, librarian, scholar, ethnographer, diversity activist,  and professor of Library Sciences at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
